BAE Set to Reorganise, Cut Nearly 2,000 Jobs

UK company BAE Systems Plc is undergoing a massive restructuring that will include the elimination of nearly 2,000 jobs, the company announced on 10 October. The job cuts, the majority of which will come from the Military Air & Information unit, will not impact the groups US operations.

Up to 1,400 jobs would be eliminated from Military Air & Information, while 350 would come from Maritime Services and 150 from Applied Intelligence. As part of the reorganisation the Platforms & Services (P&S) UK and P&S International groups will be eliminated, with their business operations folding into other groups.

The company is adding a chief technology officer, although no name was announced for the position.
